PURPOSE: To obtain excellent stability and excellent desilverizing property by incorporating a specified compd. into a bleach-fixing liquid and specifying the opening ratio (total liquid area in contact with air/total liquid volume in the tank) of a bleath-fixing liquid tank.

CONSTITUTION: The bleach-fixing liquid contains an iron (III) complex of a compd. expressed by formula I and the opening ratio of a bleach-fixing liquid tank is specified to 0.002-0.02cm-1. In the formula, R1-R6 are hydrogen atoms, aliphatic groups, aromatic groups, or hydroxy groups, W is a connecting group expressed by formula II, M1-M4 are hydrogen atoms or cations. In formula II, W1 is an alkylene group or single bond, W2 is an alkylene group or -CO-, and Z is a single bond, -O-, -S-, -CO-, etc. However, both of Z and W1 are not single bonds at one time. (n) is an integer 1-3. In the bleach-fixing tank, it is preferable that the circulation amt. of the bleach-fixing liquid per one minute is 20-80% of the total amt. of the bleach-fixing liquid.
