Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform dehydration of sludge economically by stirring a mixture of primarily dehydrated sludge with ceramic balls to absorb the water in the sludge by the ceramic balls and removing the water by evaporation.

CONSTITUTION: A sludge reduced to 65W85% water content in a primary dehydrator 1 is mixed with dry ceramic balls in a secondary dehydrator, and stirred. The water in the sludge is absorbed by the ceramic balls. The mixture of the sludge derived from the secondary dehydrator 2 with the ceramic balls is balls is charged on a wire-netting provided in a separator 3, where the sludge is fallen to below the wire-netting. The sludge separated from the ceramic balls in the separator 3 is incinerated in a sluge incinerator 4. The water absorbed by the ceramic balls is evaporated in a dryer 5 and removed.
