Abstract:
PURPOSE:To treat the surface of a metal containing a noble metal element for improving its bonding strength to another article, by bringing a thiophosphate monomer into contact with the surface of the metal and removing monomer not adsorbed by the surface. CONSTITUTION:A thiophosphate monomer (B) which is preferably a compound of formula I (wherein R is H or CH3, m is 1-2, n is 2-20, X is H when m=1, or formula II when m=2) is brought into contact with the surface of a metal (A) containing a noble metal element such as Au, Ag or Pt and a base metal element such as Fe, Ni, Cr, Co or Cu, and monomer not adsorbed by the surface of component A is removed from it.
