Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title fabric with peach skin-like peculiar feel and appearance, by treating a fabric consisting of polyamide fiber alone or its composite with polyester fiber in specified composite ratio with a specific liquid chemical containing benzoic acid and an alkali benzoate.

CONSTITUTION: A fabric is formed with polyamide fiber alone or its composite with a polyester fiber in the composite ratio: polyester/polyamide≤4. On the other hand, a liquid chemical is prepared, consisting mainly of an alkali benzoate, with the concentration of benzoic acid of 0.1-50wt.%. This chemical satisfies the following relationship: 0.01≤[BAc.Na]/[BAc]≤100 (where [BAc.Na] and [BAc] are each mol number of the alkali benzoate or benzoic acid). Said fabric is then put to swelling treatment and fibrillation treatment with said liquid chemical.
