Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for treating terephthalic acid waste water being compact, capable of separating/recovering and reusing a useful component from regenerated liq. and intended to realize a closed system.
SOLUTION: In the treating method of the terephthalic acid waste water in which the terephthalic acid waste water discharged from a stage in which the terephthalic acid is produced by subjecting paraxylene to an oxidation- treatment is treated by passing the water through an anion exchange resin 5 after passing the water through a cation exchange resin 4, at the time of regenerating the anion exchange resin, the resin is regenerated by passing an alkali compd. aq. soln. through the resin, the regeneration treating liq. is subjected to combustion decomposition to separate the alkali compd. and the separated alkali compd. is used within the production process of the terephthalic acid by using as a regenerating agent.
