Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating a transparent glass substrate by which the substrate can be treated with buffered hydrofluoric acid without making the glass surface finely rugged.
CONSTITUTION: When a transparent glass substrate is treated with buffered hydrofluoric acid, contaminants such as dust and org. matter on the surface of the substrate are previously removed by pretreating and washing the substrate. Alcohol such as isopropanol, hydrofluoric acid or a mixture of sulfuric acid with an aq. hydrogen peroxide soln. is preferably used as a washing liq.
