To provide a treatment unit for flowering plants capable of efficiently making the operation of separating the unnecessary parts of a flowering plant and capable of easily making such operations including removing and/or collecting the unnecessary parts and maintenance.
This treatment unit works as follows : the stem Ab of a flowering plant A placed on the stand 8 of a feed conveyor 2 is nipped with a pair of chucks 21 constituting a lower leaf separator 19; when the flowering plant A is longer than a reference dimension, the stem Ab is cut off with the rotary blade 36 of a stem cutter 35, thus making the respective lengths of a plurality of such flowering plants A even; the respective stems Ab (the circumference of the vicinity of the chucks 21) of the flowering plants A placed on the two stands 8 situated longitudinally are nipped with left and right two sets of lower leaves separatory elements 29 and 29 constituting the lower leaf separator 19, and these elements 29 and 29 are horizontally moved in the separatory direction (slantly) while being moved in the feed direction nearly synchronously with the feed speed of the feed conveyor 2, thus forcedly separating the unnecessary lower leaves Ac (or branches) of the stems Ab.
