PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flocculation sensitizing action by the interaction between unlike charges and to reduce the consumption of a chemical to be used and the generation of sludge by mixing a waste liq. contg. a positively charged colloidal particle and a waste liq. contg. a negatively charged colloidal particle and treating both liqs. at a time.
SOLUTION: A waste liq. coolant and/or a waste cleaning soln. and a flocculant contg. anion are added to a waste washing water from electrodeposition coating and/or a waste soln. of chemical conversion treatment to flocculate the colloidal particles, and further a chelating agent with sulfur atom as a ligand to treat the waste liq. Further, a second waste liq. in the smaller amt. than a first waste liq. contg. a positively or negatively charged colloidal particle and a flocculant having a charge like the second waste liq. are added to the first waste liq. contg. a colloidal particle having a charge unlike the charge to flocculate to flocculate the colloidal particles in the first waste liq. and the colloidal particle in the second waste liq. to treat the waste liqs. Otherwise, a positively charged hydrophobic colloidal particle and a negatively charged hydrophilic colloidal particle are flocculated in the waste liq. treatment.
