Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating waste paper pulp, capable of largely reducing pitch contained in manufactured paper and further improving the opacity of the paper by adding a specific inorganic or organic pigment to white water to remove the pitch.
CONSTITUTION: This method for treating waste paper pulp comprises adding an inorganic or organic pigment (for example, acidic china clay particles) having an oil absorption of ≥60 ml/100 g to recycled and reused white water in a process for treating the waste paper to obtain the waste paper pulp. It is preferable to add a deinking process to the process.
