Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:One of the two geometrical isomers of a triazole compound of formula I (X is alkyl, alkoxyl, halogen, or nitro; n is 0W2; R is alkyl, alkenyl, or alkynyl) defined as (E)-isomer, and its salt.

EXAMPLE: The [I-E] isomer of 1-p-chlorophenyl-4,4-dimethyl-3-methoxy-2-(1,2,4- triazol-1-yl)-1-pentene.

USE: Pesticide useful as a fungicide, herbicide and plant growth regulating agent. It has high safety to man, beast and fish, and is also harmless to agriculturally useful crops.

PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting (A) one of the two isomers of the alcohol compound of formula II defined as (E)-isomer with (B) a reactive alkyl compound, etc. in the presence of a base.
