To obtain a trichogenous agent containing a triterpene-based compound and having excellent trichogenous effect and high safety and further to obtain a cosmetic for hair, for scalp or for hair nourishing containing the trichogenous agent.
This trichogenous agent contains at least one kind of a triterpene-based compound expressed by formula I (A is CO, etc.; B is expressed by formula II, etc.; E is expressed by formula III, etc.; F is CO or CH2, etc.; G and J are each expressed by formula III, etc.; R1 is H or OH; R2 is H or methyl; R3 and R4 are each methyl or carboxyl; a broken line part is a single bond or a double bond), preferably oleanlic acid, crategolic acid, celastrol or one of their salts in an amount of 0.001-10wt.% preferably 0.01-1wt.% based on the whole amount of the agent. The compound of the formula I exists in a crude drug such as Paeonia lactiflora or Eugenia caryophyllate. this trichogenous agent can be prepared as a hair tonic, a shampoo, a rinse, pomade, hair lotion, hair cream and a hair treatment, etc.
