To obtain a new protein which has a specific amino acid sequence, has a trichothecene 3-O-acetyltransferase activity, and is useful as an inhibitor against a rust-causing fungus. Where gene coding for it is useful, for example, as a specific marker for gene manipulation.
This protein has an amino acid sequence shown by the formula or an amino acid sequence which one or more amino acid(s) is/are detected there from, substituted in, or added to the amino acid sequence shown by the formula, is a new recombinant protein consisting of a protein having a trichothecene 3-O-acetyltransferase activity, and is useful as an active ingredient, for example, for a mycotoxin-controlling agent and an inhibitor against a rust- causing fungus. The gene coding for it is useful, for example, as a specific marker for the gene manipulation using eukaryotes as hosts. This recombinant protein is obtained by screening a cDNA library from Fusarium graminearum using a probe having its partial sequence, incorporating the obtained gene into a vector, followed by expressing the gene in host cells.
