Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as a therapeutic agent for hypertension, congestive heart failure, renal failure, glaucoma, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I {R1 is H, halogen or lower alkyl; A is cyano, carboxyl, tetrazolyl, etc.; V is (CH2)m [(m) is 0-2]; W is expressed by formula II or III [R2 to R4 are H, halogen, cycloalkyl, hydroxy, etc.; Q1-Q2-Q3-Q4 is N=CH-CH=CH, CH=CH-CH=CH or CH2-CH2- CH2-CH2], etc.; X1-X2-X3 is CH=CH-CH=CH, S-CH=CH or CH=CH=S; Y is CH2, O, S, CH2O, OCH2, etc.; Z1-Z2 is C=CH, CH-CH2, etc.}, e.g. [3-(4- methyl-2-propylbenzimidazol-1-yl)methyl-6,-11-dihydrodibenzo[b,e]oxepin-11- ylidene]acetic acid. The compound expressed by formula I is obtained by using a compound expressed by formula IV as a starting raw material, then hydrolyzing the nitrile group in the resultant compound expressed by formula V in the presence of a base, etc.
