PURPOSE: To prevent troubles of involving chips, etc., inside a die by installing a seal part at a profile clearance part between an upper die and a pad and installing an outside air introduction controlling means to introduce the outside air into a pad receiving part.
CONSTITUTION: A work W is placed on a lower die 1, an upper die 2 and a pad 4 are lowered, the pad 4 is brought into contact with the work W and a pressing position is decided. The upper die 2 is lowered further and the periphery of the work W is cut with the shearing action of a trim blade 2a of the upper die 2 and a trim blade 1a of the lower die 1. When the upper die 2 is more lowered from a time point of bringing the pad 4 into contact with the work W, the air in the pad receiving part 3 is compressed, the inner pressure is kept up to the neighborhood of the lowering end. The inner pressure is increased at the neighborhood of cutting beginning point with the rigidity of the seal, the air is discharged from a part of a seal member 6, the generated chip at the cutting part or stripped burr, etc., are blown off. At this time, the chip is not stuck on the work W surface because the shape surface of the work W is pressed with the pad 4.
