Abstract:

To provide a trimming method for piezoelectric ceramics elements that is implemented easily at a low cost.

A laser beam whose beam diameter is 0.5 mm or below is emitted to part S of a front side electrode 4 at the peripheral of the electrode 4 and opposite to a rear side electrode 5. Part of a piezoelectric ceramics substrate 3 placed between the front side electrode 4 and the rear side electrode 5 corresponding to the part S is heated to the Curie point or over. Thus, the polarization of the part S of the piezoelectric ceramics substrate 3 is released to reduce output of spontaneous polarization charges.
