PURPOSE: To obtain a trioxane derivative useful as a detecting agent for various diagnoses, a light source for emergency, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A trioxane derivative of formula I (X1 and X2 are bifunctional organic residue; R1 and R2 are carboxyl, amino, hydroxyl or mercapto; X2-R2 may be methyl, ethyl or propyl; R is H, halogen, methyl, ethyl or propyl) such as 3-[1-methyl-6-(t-butyldimethylsiloxycarbonyl)hexyl]-5-(9-anthrylamino)-6- methyl-6-[5-(t-butyldimethylsiloxycarbonyl)pentyl]-1,2,4-trioxane. The trioxane derivative of formula I is obtained by reacting an anthrylamine derivative of formula II with an aldehyde derivative of formula III (R3 and R4 are protected carboxy, protected amino, etc.; X2-R4 is methyl, ethyl or propyl) and oxygen and then deprotecting.
