Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trip device for circuit breaker which allows for setting of a desired rating current, suppression of damage of a bimetal due to a fault current, and effective detection of fault current by obtaining sufficient amount of heat generation and bending of the bimetal.SOLUTION: A trip device 160 for circuit breaker includes a first terminal 166 connected to the power supply side or the load side, a second terminal 164 connected to the load side or the power supply side, and a bimetal 162 in which a slot 162b having one open side is formed at one end, one end is divided into a first end 162c and a second end 162d, the first end 162c is connected with the first terminal 166, and a second end 162d is connected with the second terminal 164. The bimetal 162 generates heat by a current flowing between the first end 162c and second end 162d, and the amount of heat generation depends on the length of the slot 162b.
