Abstract:
To provide an industrially and economically effective method for inexpensively and easily producing hexahydroxytriphenylene that is useful as a liquid crystal intermediate in high yeild, and provide a new trisalkylenedioxytriphenylene and trisdihalogenomethylenedioxytriphenylene.
The trisalkylenedioxytriphenylene is halogenated with a halogen molecule in the presence of a halogen compound and the resultant trishalogenoalkylenedioxytriphenylene is hydrolyzed and followed by dealkylenatation to form hexahydroxytriphenylene.
