PURPOSE: To prevent melfunctioning of the titled apparatus, by employing such an arrangement that, in case that some trouble is detected by a trouble detecting means, information concerned to this trouble is cancelled if another trouble is not detected within a predetermined total time when an ignition switch is kept closed.
CONSTITUTION: In an electronic control unit, there is provided a memory element which holds memory independently of closing and opening of an ignition switch in an operation room. In case that some trouble is detected with the input signals to the electronic control unit, "occurrence of trouble" information is put into memory of the electronic control unit. Here, arrangement is such that the "occurrence of trouble" information thus stored in the electronic control unit is cancelled if another trougle with the input signals to the electronic control unit is not detected within a predetermined total time when the ignition switch is kept closed. By employing such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent reading of faulty trouble information.
