PURPOSE: To provide a pouring trough which can efficiently align the axes of the trough body and a chute with good accuracy, eliminate the centering work for each casting and improve the working efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: The pouring trough 1 is formed by attaching an elevating device P for ascending/descending the chute 5, a rotor actuator 9 for turning over the trough body 6 while using a longitudinal shaft as a turning axis and a positioning device Q for performing positioning of the trough body 6 with the chute 5 by detaining the trough body 6. After completing the casting, the chute 5 is separated from the trough body 6 with the elevating device P and the trough body 6 is turned over with the rotor actuator 9 and then, the discharge of excess pig iron in the trough body 6 can automatically be executed. Further, the positioning of the trough body 6 can automatically, efficiently and accurately be executed with the positioning device Q and the positioning work with an operator is made unnecessary and the labor can be saved.
