PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a truck type chain conveyor for conveying a metallic strip coil capable of carrying a truck to the coil transfer position with excellent accuracy while the equipment is simplified.
SOLUTION: A truck detecting means 16 to detect carriage of a truck 2 is arranged on the upstream position close to the transfer position M. When a pusher dog release means 40 confirms carriage of the truck 2 by a truck detecting means 14, the engaged condition of a pusher dog 8 from the downstream side is released relative to an engagement part 2b of the truck 2. In the condition in which carriage of the truck to the transfer position M by a chain 6 for carriage is suspended, the truck 2 is carried to the downstream side by a centering carriage means 18, and stopped at the transfer position M. The truck 2 can be positioned with high accuracy at the transfer position M even when elongation is generated in the chain 6 for carriage.
