Title:
TRUNCATED ICOSAHEDRON DIE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003190621
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a truncated icosahedron die wherein the probability by which respective surfaces come to the top can be easily changed, and which can be used for various kinds of purposes by freely setting the probability.

This truncated icosahedron has a truncated icosahedron 10 comprising 12 surfaces of an equilateral pentagon 12 and 20 surfaces of an equilateral hexagon 14, of which the surface areas are different. Then, respective surfaces of the truncated icosahedron 10 are sorted into three kinds of identifications sections A to C, and the respective identification sections A to C are provided while selectively sorting them in such a manner that the area ratio may form a specified probability for a sacker lottery. Also, for the truncated icosahedron 10, the length of one edge of the equilateral pentagon 12 and the length of one edge of the equilateral hexagon 14 are equal, and the surface areas are different. At the same time, the percentage that one equilateral pentagon 12 occupies may be approximately 2.36743%, and the percentage that one equilateral hexagon 14 occupies may be approximately 3.57504% based on the total area.
