PURPOSE: To dissolve the fear of rainwater or the like, flowing in a drain groove, overflowing into a trunk by fitting a hollow weatherstrip to the inner surface of a trunk lid, and providing a flange without an acute edge at its upper end, inside the drain groove provided at the trunk opening edge.

CONSTITUTION: The sheet metal 2 of a body 1 is formed into pail shape at the trunk opening edge to form a drain groove 4, and a flange 6 without an acute angle at its upper end is formed by an erected part 3 provided at the end of this sheet metal 2 and the other sheet metal 5 bent round to cover the upper end of the erected part 3. The drain capacity, that is, the sectional area, of the drain groove 4 is set in such a way that the water level of rainwater W or the like does not go over the upper end of the flange 6. A trunk lid 7 is of double structure formed of two pieces of sheet metal 8, 9, and a hollow weatherstrip 10 is bonded to the lower face of the lower sheet metal 9 by adhesive 14. The sectional area of the drain groove 4 is thereby prevented from being decreased at the time of closing the trunk lid 7, so that the original drain capacity of the drain groove 4 can be displayed as it is.
