To provide a tubular body possessing excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength, heat conductivity, and voltage proofness by coating the surface of a hexagonal boron nitride, to be dispersed in a polyimide resin, with an organosilane to improve the wettability and improve the adhesion to the polyimide resin and to provide a process for preparing the same.
This tubular body comprises: a polyimide and a hexagonal boron nitride powder having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 5μm dispersed in the polyimide, the surface of the hexagonal boron nitride powder having been coated with an organosilane. The process for preparing a tubular body comprises the steps of: coating the surface of a hexagonal boron nitride powder with an organosilane, dispersing the coated powder in a solvent, polymerizing a tetracaboxylic acid dihydrate and a diamine compd. in a solvent to prepare a polyimide precursor soln., coating the inner surface of a cylindrical mold with the precursor soln., and conducting heating to covert the precursor to an imide to prepare a tubular body of a polyimide resin.
