A method for manufacturing a tubular heater is equipped with: a glass tube 1 equipped with a cylindrical part 11 with a space 13 inside, and seal parts 12 formed on both ends of the cylindrical part 11; and a filament 3 arranged so as to be along a tube axis of the glass tube 1 inside the cylindrical part 11, one end side of the cylindrical part 11 is provided with a first subtube 63, and the other end side of the cylindrical part 11 is provided with a second subtube 64, and constituted so that the air of the space 13 whose capacity is 50000 mm3 or more is exhausted from the first, second subtubes 63, 64.
