Title:
TUFTING APPARATUS HAVING HOLLOW NEEDLE FOR PRODUCING PATTERNED FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05195410
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the tangling with other yarns and to obtain smooth pattern tuffs by allowing a plurality of yarns in the inlets of yarn exchangers connected to hollow needles to wait and selectively feeding the yarns into the hollow needles.

CONSTITUTION: The internal shapes of the yarn exchanger 10 connected to each of the plurality of hollow needles 10 for implanting the yarns to a ground fabric with the tufting machine for the patterned fabric, such as a carpet, is formed to a funnel shape having a large opening end and a small opening end. The small opening end is allowed to communicate as an outlet of the yarn exchangers 70 with the inlet of the hollow needle 10 and a conduit front end 112 projecting from the other large opening end is extended near to the inlet of the needle 10. The many yarns are held in a standby state via respective feed pipe 102 in the inlets of these yarn exchangers 70 and the high-pressure air to the supply pipes 102 of the yarns to be fed to the needles 10 is selectively controlled and the low-pressure air to the other supply pipes 102 with a pressure controller to feed the prescribed yarns to the needles 10 via the yarn exchangers 70 and to execute prescribed tufting and thereafter, the used yarns are withdrawn from needles 10 so as to be ready for the next yarn exchange.
