Abstract:
To obtain the subject agent useful as a suppressant or therapeutic agent for skin cancer, suppressant or therapeutic agent, etc. for liver cancer by constituting the agent of a composition comprising a specific triterpenoid saponin as an active ingredient.
This agent is constituted of a composition comprising a specific triterpenoid saponin of the formula (R is a group of the formula Glc-Xyl; Glc is glucose; and Xyl is xylose) as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula is obtained by extracting from root or rhizome of Panax vietnamensis. The daily dose of the agent is preferably 1×10-4 to 0.1 g/kg.weight as a compound of the formula.
