Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the title agent having high tumor/normal tissue sensitivity, comprising 99mTc-dimercaptosuccinic acid complex prepared by a specific process.
CONSTITUTION: Dimercaptosuccinic acid is reacted with 99mTco4-ion-containing liquid in the presence of a reducing agent, at pH 8W11, and the resulting 99mTc- dimercaptosuccinic acid complex (99mTc-DMSA complex) is used as the tumor scanning agent. 1W5mCi of the agent is injected in the vein of a patient, and after several to ten odd hours, scanned with a scintillation scanner or a gamma camera to diagnose the presence or the size of tumor.
