Title:
TUNGSTEN HALOGEN LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58172861
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a bulb from being blackened, by setting a getter metal comprising tantalum and the like on the bulb wall of a tungsten halogen lamp having tungsten filaments sealed inside, in a way that one end of the getter metal enters a space inside the bulb and the other end keeps away from the space.

CONSTITUTION: A tungsten filament 5 is set inside a bulb 1 sealed in with halogen inside and comprising quartz glass, while a tungsten spring 7 and a getter metal-make spring 8 composed of tantalum or zircon, etc., are fitly inset in side its exhaust tube 3, then one end of the spring 8 is made to enter a space inside the bulb 1 while the other end is supported in a way of keeping away from the space, and a tungsten halogen lamp is thus formed up. Therefore, by making the getter metal produce a temperature gradient and the other end into a low temperature, a reaction between the getter metal and the halogen can be checked and thereby bulb blackening by the sticking of tungsten on the tube wall can be prevented.
