PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel drilling device and a control method thereof that enable, even when a tunnel is drilled manually, drilling of a curved section also by a simple operation.SOLUTION: A drilling machine comprises a front barrel part, a rear barrel part, a prescribed intermediate bending point, a parallel link mechanism, an input section 21, an intermediate bending point position calculation section 23 and a jack control section 26. The parallel link mechanism includes a plurality of thrust jacks for changing the position of the front barrel part to the rear barrel part. The intermediate bending point position calculation section 23 calculates the position of an intermediate bending point in accordance with the inputs for operation accepted by the input section 21, and the positions of the central line and point of the rear barrel part and the central point of the front barrel part. The jack control section 26 controls strokes of thrust jacks so that the jacks advance in conformity with a curve generated in accordance with the positions of the central point of the rear barrel part, the intermediate bending point and the central point of the front barrel part.
