Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a highly reliable unmanned tunnel fire distinguishing system that can be inspected from outside the tunnel and can operate without a fire extinguishing unit installed at any spot of the total tunnel length.
CONSTITUTION: A fire fighting robot 1 travelling along a rail 2 installed in a tunnel detects a car FC on fire by use of two CD cameras 11, 12, moves to a predetermined spot in the vicinity of the fire, turns an extinguishant launcher 22 to the car FC on fire, and then launches a fire extinguishing grenade B.
