To provide a turbidity substance removing apparatus (A) constituted so that a plurality of filter media (4) each comprising a core and a turbidity substance capturing material provided to the periphery of a core string in a projecting state are fixed between the supports (2) and (3) arranged up and down in a column (1) in a suspended state by the hanging strings (7) and (8) provided to both ends of the filter media so that the filter media are pressed to one support at the time of passage of raw water to be brought to a dense state and released from the dense state at the time of passage of washing water to form a coarse state and improved so as to achieve the extension of a water passing time.
Opening parts (91) are provided between a plurality of the filter media (4) within a range wherein the turbidity capturing material is present at the time of passage of raw water and the opening part (92) of the base ends thereof is provided with turbidity substance concentrated liquid extraction pipes (9) communicating with the outside of the column (1) in the same direction as the filter media (4).
