Title:
TURBINE ROTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5925003
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To absorb and suppress vibration generated in turbine shafts through squeezing effect when several shafts are connected with couplings by providing a squeeze film damper system on one of the journal bearings supporting the turbine shafts on both sides of the turbine. CONSTITUTION:Turbine shafts 6 and 6' are connected with couplings 7 and 7', and journal bearings 8 and 8' supporting the shafts are mounted on supporting bases 10 and 10' through bearing outer rings 9 and 9'. In at least one journal bearing 8' of the two bearings 8 and 8' which interpose the couplings 7 and 7', an approx. 1-5mm. clearance 11 is provided between the bearing outer ring 9' and the supporting base 10'. Lubricating oil is supplied into this clearance 11 through an oil filling port 12, forming a lubricating oil film in the clearance 11. Having a squeeze film damper function, this film causes a squeezing effect that suppresses vibration through the inner pressure of oil film.
