PURPOSE: To make an intake passage pass through an outer circumferential space thereof without any bend by arranging the rotational direction of a turbo charger downward in the engine side and setting the opening of a scroll outlet of a compressor upward.
CONSTITUTION: A turbo charger 8, connecting an exhaust gas turbine 11 intervened in an exhaust passage 10 and a compressor 13 intervened in an intake passage 12 to each other through an intermediate shaft 14 is arranged to rotate downward, namely rearward in the engine 3 side as shown by an arrow in the figure, and a scrool outlet 13a is opened upward at the front top of the charger. With the foregoing constitution, the passage 12 is extented toward an intake port 7 located on the rear side of the prechamber 15 through the upper side of the engine 3 and the prechamber 15 to pass an space surrounded by the engine 3, exhaust manifold 9 and charger 8 without any bend. Thus, the resistance of duct may be reduced becaue no temperature rise due to bend may take place.
