Title:
TURBO ENGINE BLADE, PARTICULARLY FAN BLADE AND ITS FABRICATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005133717
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a preform that is made of yarns or fibers woven in three dimensions, does not require an inserting body or any other mounting member, and can configure a completed parts of a turbo machine blade only by cutting itself in a predetermined shape and injecting it.

The composite turbo machine blade comprises the preform and a binder for maintaining the relative disposition between the yarns of the preform. The preform comprises a first portion made using a first weave A forming the airfoil of the blade, and a second portion made using a second weave B forming the root of the blade, and the first and second portions are united by a transition zone in which the first weave is progressively modified to end up with the second weave, thereby obtaining a reduction in the thickness of the blade between the second portion and the first portion. The invention is applicable to making a fan blade for a turbo jet.
