Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cryogenic liquid around a bearing from being evaporated by heat generated by a slinger in a turbo pump including the bearing cooled by the cryogenic liquid.SOLUTION: A turbo pump includes: an impeller which compresses a liquid; a turbine disc provided with a blade lattice; a shaft connecting the impeller with the turbine disc; a bearing pivotally supporting the shaft; and a housing which houses the impeller, the turbine disc, the shaft, and the bearing. The turbo pump includes: a seal part provided between the bearing and the turbine disc; a slinger disposed between the bearing and the seal part and including a disc fixed to the shaft and blade parts provided at a seal part side of the disc; and a partition wall which divides an internal part of the housing into a decompression chamber, in which the blades part of the slinger are disposed, and a bearing storage chamber in which the bearing is stored. The decompression chamber is connected with the bearing storage chamber through a clearance passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
