Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve safety and workability in cargo handling work by providing a rack detecting device in a forklift, executing automatic running control at running time in a passage in a rack, and executing manual control by a running operating lever in the other case, in the case of performing the cargo handling work relating to the many racks.
CONSTITUTION: In a forklift 1, rack gears 10A, 10B are juxtaposed in a vehicle body lateral direction in a front surface of a lift bracket liftably mounted on masts 3, and a carriage 13 is provided turnably around a turn shaft 9 in a movable head 4 slidably provided in the rack gear. A rack detecting device 60, detecting the forklift brought into contact with a rack and provided in a passage between the racks, is provided in any one of straddle arms 5 secured to right/left both sides of a body 2 of the forklift 1. In accordance with a detection signal of this rack detecting device 60, control is performed to interrupt an output to a drive source making a fork operate turn action, so as to transmit the output only to a drive source making the fork operate horizontal moving action.
