Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a configuration comprising plural kinds of optical filters corresponding to plural kinds of spectral images is difficult to suppress upsizing of the apparatus and increase in cost, and incurs greater processing loads of the controller.SOLUTION: A turret-type optical element mounted on a light source device for an endoscope comprises: a turntable rotatably pivoted about a central shaft and including a first annular region positioned about the central shaft and a second annular region positioned outside of the first annular region; and optical filters arranged in a plurality of openings formed in the turntable. The turntable has openings formed in the first and second annular regions, respectively, with optical filters arranged to extract light having optical characteristics required to generate first and second images.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
