PURPOSE: To provide a turret unit of simple structure capable of selectively performing index rotation of turret head and rotation operation of a driven shaft with one driving motor.

CONSTITUTION: A locking key part 21 is formed at the front end face of driving shaft 3 of a driving motor M and a locking key groove 22 capable of disengagably engaging with the locking key part 21 through advance and retreat motions of a turret head 10 is formed at the rear end face of each driven shaft 13 to provide a clutch mechanism 20. Bevel gear pair 28, 29 are formed between a transmission shaft 27 and the driving shaft 3 are disposed and to the front head face of the transmission shaft 27 a driving power transmission gear 31 is fixed, while a follower transmission gear 32 capable of engaging with a driving power transmission gear 37 through advance and retreat motions of the turret 10 is installed on the rear end face of the turret head 10 to constitute a turret rotation driving system 25.
