PURPOSE: To enable a 12-phase transformer-rectifier unit to be lessened in transportation size and weight so as not to exceed a transportation limit and also reduced in floor space in the case of site installation.
CONSTITUTION: A transformer main body is composed of a first and a second 6-phase rectifier transformers, 41 and 42, separately housed in tanks 410 and 420, where the second 6-phase rectifier transformer 42 is mounted on the first 6-phase rectifier transformer 41 so as to lessen a twelve-phase transformer- rectifier unit of this design in floor space. As the 6-phase rectifier transformers 41 and 42 can be separately transported, the twelve-phase transformer-rectifier unit of this design can be lessened in transportation size and weight, so that, the transformer main bodies can be transported as separately housed in the tanks and the rectifier transformers 41 and 42 can be kept high in insulation reliability. The 6-phase rectifier transformers 41 and 42 are linked together with a common duct 45, and components common to the 6-phase rectifier transformers 41 and 42 are housed or fixed inside the common duct 45 whereby components can be lessened in number so as to reduce the cost of a 12-phase transformer-rectifier device.
