Rotating shafts 3, 5 of the resolvers 2, 4 equipped respectively with excitation winding and output winding, for acquiring θp and θq as output rotation angles in proportion to sine and cosine of a rotation angle of a rotor are connected by a torsion bar 7. Assuming that shaft double angles of the resolvers 2, 4 are P, Q, respectively, and that the maximum relative angle to be measured is Δθm, following relations are realizes, Q-P=1, 360/2×Q×P>Δθ. Δθis determined by the expression Δθ=(Φq-θqm)/Q from the rotation angle Φq of the resolver 2 acquired by measurement, and Δθ to θqm in the case of an integer value M satisfying a prescribed condition is used as the relative angle. θ is determined from the expression θ=Φp/P+360×M/P relative to the integer value M satisfying the prescribed condition from the rotation angle Φp of the resolver 1 acquired by measurement, and used as the absolute angle θ.
