To provide a balloon lighting unit, for use for lighting at a factory site or an event/exhibition, needing no fan motors, energy-saving and of reduced cost, without contraction of the balloon due to trouble of a fan motor or tear off, with a unit weight-saved to be easier to carry and compactly housed.

The balloon 23 maintains its spherical shape by an elastic member 2 locked to a balloon top-end part 10 and a balloon bottom-end part 11, and floodlights from a built-in lighting device. The balloon 23 expands and contracts as the elastic member 2 and a stretch cloth material 1 coil themselves around a pillar-like stuff 4 by rotating a winding means 5. The balloon 23 has a power generator 7 loaded on a truck 8 with wheels 15 and a balloon support part 6 in free expansion and contraction and can also be fitted to an extension of the balloon support part 6. Further, it can have a collapsible tripod 20 mounted and utilize an external power as a power source through an electric wire 21.
