Abstract:
To provide a two-cycle diesel engine which emits little NOx.
This type of two-cycle diesel engine is longitudinal scavenged, and has a large capacity. This engine has at least one cylinder 2 provided with longitudinally movable piston 3. The cylinder 2 has an exhaust valve 5 for exchausting combustion gas, and a plurality of scavenging apertures 21 for introducing the scavenged air to the cylinder 2. A means for decreasing a scavenging amount is arranged on the cylinder 2. A part of the combustion gas generated during the combustion process remains in the cylinder 2.
