Abstract:
PURPOSE: To decrease the structural height by a means having a simple structure, in a two-cycle engine.
CONSTITUTION: An engine is provided with at least one cylinder 5 in which a piston 8 is to be movably guided. The piston 8 is provided with a piston rod 12 functionally connected to a crankshaft 2 supported in a housing 3 through a power transmitting mechanism. The power transmitting mechanism is constituted of a beam member 14 connected to the piston rod 12, extending in the lateral direction in relation to the crankshaft 2 and provided with a slide surface curved toward the crankshaft 2, and a slide block 16 supported on a crank pin 20 of the crankshaft 2 and to be engaged with a slide surface 15. The beam member 14 is supported on the guide surface in the housing 3.
