PURPOSE: To shorten the time for data converting processing in a two-dimensional data converting device.

CONSTITUTION: An input handshake circuit 1 is made active based on a write action signal WACT from a stepping control circuit 6, and an output handshake circuit 2 is made active based on a read action signal RACT from the stepping control circuit 6. An address signal WA is outputted from a write address counter 3 to the stepping control circuit 6 and a multiplexer 7 in the active state of the handshake circuit 1. An address signal RA is outputted from an address translating circuit 5 through an address counter 4 to the stepping control circuit 6 and the multiplexer 7 in the active state of the handshake circuit 2. Based on an R/W switching signal, the multiplexer 7 alternately selectively outputs the address signals WA and RA to a RAM 8. The RAM 8 writes pixel data from a data input terminal 12 to the address based on the address signal WA and reads pixel data from the address based on the address signal RA.
