Title:
TWO-ELECTRODE SUBMERGED ARC WELDING METHOD OF STEEL PLATE HAVINE HIGH WEATHERABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6040690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve resistance to cracking by specifying the chemical components of a consumable electrode and adjusting adequately the ratio of the current passing through each electrode and an inter-electrode distance.

CONSTITUTION: A consumable electrode having the compsn. consisting, by weight %, of <0.06 C, <0.05 Si, 0.8W1.6 Mn, 0.3W0.4 Cu, 0.45W0.75 Cr, 0.05W0.3 Ni and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities is used. A wire contg. <0.02 P and <0.01 S among the above-described unavoidable impurities is used. Two-electrode submerged arc welding of steel plates having high weatherability is accomplished by setting an inter-electrode distance at 40W80mm and the ratio given by (the current of the preceding electrode)/(the current of the succeeding electrode) in a 0.6W1 range.
