PURPOSE: Titled rapid-curing composition which provides coated films having good weather resistance, water resistance and appearance, prepared by adding a specified catalyst to a two-pack type urethane coating composition comprising an acrylic resin varnish and an isocyanate resin varnish.

CONSTITUTION: To (A) a two-pack type urethane coating composition comprising (a) at least one varnish selected from the group consisting of an acrylic resin, a polyester resin and an epoxy resin, each having a hydroxyl value of at least 10 or an epoxy value of at least 10 and (b) a varnish of an isocyanate such as tolylene diisocyanate or hexamethylene diisocyanate, is added 0.01W50wt%, pref. 0.1W5wt% of (B) a compound having a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group or a sulfonic group, MW 3,000, such as benzilic acid or 4-hydroxy-1-naphthylenesulfonic acid (as a catalyst).
