Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a ship to be efficiently sailed without being affected by the load capacity, by providing a selector valve on a discharging pipe of a pump casing, connecting upper and lower injection pipes to the selector valve, and opening the injection ports of the upper and lower injection pipes near respective draft levels in full-loading and in no-loading.
SOLUTION: A ship in which a jet pump is arranged obtains propulsion force by sucking sea water from a suction port 3 of a pump casing 1 opened on the bottom 2, pressurizing and accelerating it by an impeller 4, and discharging it from a discharging port 5. In this case, a selector valve 3 such as a three- way valve is provided on a discharging pipe 6 connected to the discharging port 5, and the rear end of the discharging pipe 6 is connected to an upper injection pipe 8 and a lower injection pipe 9. The pressurized water pressurized and accelerated in the pump casing 1 is injected from the upper injection pipe 8 or the lower injection pipe 9 by operating the selector valve 7, so as to obtain propulsion force, and the selector valve 7 is switch-controlled so that the upper injection pipe 8 may be selected when cargoes are loaded, and the lower injection pipe 9 may be selected when no cargo is loaded.
