To provide a two-way clutch unit without a leak of torque, by restraining abrasion of a torque transmission surface of clutch teeth.
An output shaft 20 is coaxially arranged with a driving wheel 10, and a dog clutch 30 is arranged between its driving wheel and the output shaft for engaging the clutch teeth 36 and 37 formed on an opposed surface of both clutch plates, by moving a driving side clutch plate 31 of preventing rotation by the driving wheel toward a driven side clutch plate 32 arranged on the shaft end of the output shaft. A clutch control means 40 controlling engagement is arranged on one side in the axial direction of the dog clutch. The meshing depth of the clutch teeth is deepened by pulling the driving side clutch plate in the driven side clutch plate by the taper action, even when initial meshing is shallow, with both side torque transmitting surfaces 36a and 37a of the clutch teeth formed on the opposed surface of the driving side clutch plate and the driven side clutch plate on the output shaft side as a taper surface having a peripheral directional tooth width gradually becoming small toward a dedendum from an addendum.
