To secure safety of an electric sliding door device without causing severe pinching accident by a door in the case where a two-way clutch unit is applied for the electric sliding door device.
The two-way clutch unit is provided with: static system members 25 to 27; an input outer ring 21 rotation-driven by a drive motor; an output shaft 22 for taking out torque transmitted from the input outer ring 21 to outside; a clutch ring 23, provided between the input outer ring 21 and the output shaft 22 in such a manner to move in an axial direction and incapable of relative rotation, and to engage and to disengage with the output shaft 22; and a cam mechanism 24 for controlling engagement and disengagement of the clutch ring 23 and the output shaft 22 by moving the clutch ring 23 in the axial direction via a relative angle displacement for the static system members 25 to 27. The two-way clutch unit includes a magnetic sensor 50 for detecting rotation number of the output shaft 22, a target 51 and a control circuit 52 for inverting the output shaft 22, based on output of the magnetic sensor 50 when the rotation number of the output shaft 22 becomes equal to or smaller than a predetermined threshold value.
